"Kom fra Finnland for å være med i krigen i Norge 1940. Ble tolk for allierte tropper i Harstad. Var senere matros på d/s Birk. Da skipet lå til ankers utenfor Kirkenes 15. februar 1942, slet det fortøyningene i en storm og drev ned på et minefelt. Det ble sprengt og gikk ned med alle som var ombord".
