Ble tvangsutskrevet til å tjenstgjøre som kokk på M/T INGER JOHANNE. Da skipet var på vei fra Oslo via Kristiansand til Tyskland, ble det angrepet utenfor Kristiansand av allierte fly og satt i brann. Han omkom under dette angrepet 15. oktober 1944.
