I 1939 ble handelsskipet D/S BURLINGTON, bygget i 1922, rekvirert av Admiralitetet som HMS BULINGTON som et mine-ødeleggelses fartøy. I januar 1941 ble hun omdøpt HMS SOOTHSAYER og omdøpt HMS FAIRFAX senere i 1941.
I 1944 ble skipet benyttet som reperasjonsfartøy og solgt til T. W. Ward 11.04.1945 og ankom Milford Haven senere i 1945 for opphugging.
