"Pelagos" ble kapret av det tyske kaperfartøyet PINGUIN på feltet i Antarktis 14. januar 1941 sammen med hvalkokeriene "OLE WEGGER" og "SOLGLIMT.
Sjømannen ble satt i land i Bordeaux og sendt hjem til Norge hvor han ankom 4.5.1941, Avm. Sandefjord 5.5.1941.
