Registernummer under krigen: London 5462, NY 4745.
"Prominent" ble senket i det Indiske hav 28..2.1942 av japanske sjøstridskrefter. Mannskapet tatt til fange og satt i fangenskap på Java. Frigitt 4.9. 1945 og transportert til Singapore for viderebefordring.Sendt med fly til Colombo, Ceylon, og derfra med Troppetransportskipet "Highland Monarch" til England. Derfra videre til Norge med "Astrea" 17.11.45.
Etter krigen skiftet sjømannen statsborgerskap og bosatte seg i Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
