Reiste fra Sverige til Norge i april 1940 for å være med i kampene på Østlandet. Kom senere tilbake til Gøteborg for å gjøre tjeneste i handelsflåten. Gikk ut med " kvarstadskipet " M/T STORSTEN og omkom 1. april 1942 da skipet sank etter en eksplosjon utenfor Kristiansand, på vei til England.
Tildelt Krigsmedaljen post mortem.
M/T STORSTEN var en av de såkalte «Kvarstadbåtene» som hadde ligget i arrest i Gøteborg. Den 31. mars 1942 brøt hun ut sammen med 10 andre norske skip med kurs for England.
