M/S Kattegat ble sunket av den tyske raideren Michel 20. mai 1942. Rørvik og de andre overlevende ble tatt til fange om bord på skipet.
Rørvik var fange om bord det tyske skipet M/S Rhakotis da det ble senket av britiske HMS Scylla.
