AUSTNES, PER KÅRE, Haram. Født 6. juli 1921 i Haram, s. av Tomas Gustav Petterson Austnes, f. 1893, og Randi Jonasdatter, f. 1898, begge i Haram. Var før krigen fisker, men reiste 17. mars 1941 sammen med 6 kamerater over til England i en fiskeskøyte. Ble utdannet som motormann og tjenestegjorde fra desember 1941 på undervannsbåten Urædd, og omkom da båten ble senket under operasjoner på norskekysten 10. februar 1943. Krigsmedaljen post mortem.
