Var smører på hvalkokeriet D/S STROMBUS som i mai 1940 kom fra Sør-Georgia til England. Skipet med mannskap ble satt inn i vare- og ammunisjonstransporten mellom USA og England.
Under et opphold i Swansea ble byen utsatt for en voldsomt bombardement av tyske fly, og han omkom 1. september 1940.
Henrik Martin Aspevik ble gravlagt i Swansea.
