Styrmannsskole og telegrafkurs. Drev Oterstig pensjonat på Tjøme. Reiste på hvalfangst høsten 1939. Gikk i alliert fart under krigen mellom England og Canada. Omkom ved drukning i Gravesend i England 11. november 1941.
