Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
M/T NORSOL fra 23.3.1942 til 5.10.1942
M/S PRINS HARALD fra 26.10.1942 til 20.11.2942 da dette skip ble torpedert. Avmøstringsdato er 27.11.1942
D/S BERGENSFJORD fra 6.1.1943 til 6.7.1945
For sin innsats for Norge under den annen verdenskrig ble han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen, Deltakermedaljen og Haakon den VII`s 70 års medalje.
