«Førte 1940 d/s Veslekari til Grønland med forsyninger. Ble brakt til England og førte senere «Veslekari» til Jan Mayen, der det ble satt opp ny radiostasjon. Var enda en tur til Jan Mayen som islos på et marinefartøy. Var så ansatt i et engelsk bergingskompani som fører på d/s Veslekari. Ble syk ombord, lagt inn på hospital i Reykjavik og døde 13. februar 1943. Omtalt i Sunnmørsposten i august 1945. Sønnen Jens omkom 1941».
