Styrmanns sertifikat for dampskip 07.09.1928. Overført til Oslo Mønstringskrets 01.03.1948,
rulle nr. A-3672. Fått skipsfører sertifikat i Oslo 01.03.1948.
07.01.1924: Mønstret i Trondheim til Dampskip KAPANA , mønstret av i Sandefjord 07.05.1927.
28.05.1927: Mønstret i Arendal til Dampskip KVERNAAS som matros, mønstret av Kopervik 05.08.1927.
01.03.1929: Mønstret i Oslo til Motorskip SYDHAV som matros, mønstret av 04.10.1929 i Sambo.
05.10.1929: Mønstret i Singapore som 3.styrmann til Damptanker SALSAAS, mønstret om til

Mønstret av i Wilhelmstad 16.07.1935 som 2.styrmann.
Seilte i utenriksfart under 2.verdenskrig som 1.styrmann på Dampskip DANIO og fra juni 1941
som skipsfører på Dampskip SJOFNA, Dampskip OPHIR, Dampskip TRES og Dampskip SIGRID. Fra 1.april 1943
ble Bøgård tilknyttet Den Norske Marinen som utskreven løytnant.
Bøgård ble dimittert i Marinen 20.12.1947. Han fortsatte likevel å tjenestegjøre i Marinen,
nå med grad av kapteinløytnant, inntil han bega sjøen i 1950.
