Gift 1924 i Tjølling med Astrid Larsen, f. 1903 s. st. 3 barn. Middelskole, politiskole, utlært stansemaker. Seilte under krigen i alliert fart og omkom 15. juni 1943 da m/s Høegh Silverdawn ble senket av tysk hjelpekrysser "Michel" øst for Fremantle, W. A.
